The story behind iMeetPlace
A relaunch built on a simple observation: the more time we spend on screens, the more we want a real reason to leave the house.
How it began
iMeetPlace started in 2012 with a question its founder kept running into: apps were great at introducing people and terrible at getting them into the same room. The first version paired members with local venues in San Diego and proved the idea, but it was built on tools that could not keep up with what members and venue owners were asking for.
What changed
In 2026 we rebuilt everything from the ground up as iMeetPlace 2.0: the Orbit that shows how busy every place is right now, Meets with tables the venue actually holds, Orbit Passport for real-world history, Video Hello to break the ice, and Orbit Guard to keep every plan in sync. One app for members, venues and organizations.
Where we are going
We are launching city by city with partner venues, starting where our community already is, and opening the platform to chambers, campuses and teams that want a private orbit of their own. The goal never changes: more real plans, in real places, with real people.
